Toby Bird

Toby is the Owner and Managing Director of Minchin & Sims since purchasing the business from Ross Minchin in 2013 after working for the business for 15 years.

As a registered builder specialising in renovations, new homes and character builds Toby is able to satisfy his passion for complex renovations including those with heritage aspects as well as continuing the style of iconic architects, such as Iwan Iwanoff.

Such projects, combined with architecturally designed contemporary new builds has earned Toby and Minchin and Sims a reputation for integrity, reliability and quality workmanship, as well as working very closely with our clients to ensure their building experience is positive.

Toby is also a Director on a number of Boards, including Wesbuilders Co-operative.

Toby is married to wife Dimitra with three teenage daughters and enjoys spending time on his boat with family and friends.

Stuart started his career as a carpenter in 2003, building award winning houses in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs with prestigious building company Horizon Habitats. In 2008 Stuart combined his love of travel with his trade and gained experience in Canada, building timber framed housing in Whistler.

Stuart commenced working with Minchin and Sims in 2009, and widened his experience into the Western Australian working on heritage renovations and

Stuart balances his busy work life with his three young children and wife Bec. When he can find a spare moment, you will find him searching for a wave along the west coast.

Roo Clayden

Roo Clayden

Roo has over 30 years’ experience in the building industry and has been with Minchin and Sims for over 14 years. With an Associate Diploma in Architecture Roo has experience in drawing/design with a number of architecture firms. Since joining Minchin and Sims Roo has combined his creative flair with providing all the estimates and costings for all our projects both in the tendering phase as well as project support.

Roo loves his cricket and soccer, both indoor and outdoor and will often be found coaching his children’s cricket teams on the weekends. Roo is also a very talented airbrush artist focussing on photorealism.

Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor

Mark began his apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery in 2005 gaining experience in renovations, new builds and restoring heritage properties throughout the western suburbs.

In 2010 he launched MT Carpentry which built upon this knowledge, and, with a team of carpenters, successfully applied their skills to many homes around Perth for Minchin & Sims, LiteHouse & Other boutique builders.
He joined the Lite-House team in 2016 as a Site-Manager/Supervisor to assist in the restoration and extensive renovation of the prestigious Heritage Listed ‘Unalla’ property in Peppermint Grove.

Known for his accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, Mark is passionate about delivering jobs of the highest standard.
When Mark isn’t working or running after his three kids, you’ll find him heading fishing or camping whenever possible.

Korri Edwards

Korri Edwards

Korri joined Minchin and Sims in 2021 and brings over 15 years of experience broad range of industries across a broad range of industries to her role as Accounts Manager.

Korri is always on the go with a number of private clients as well managing a team of bookkeepers for a Perth accounting firm. A member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and The Tax Institute, Korri is immersed in her profession, she is constantly evolving and eager to take on new challenges.

If you want an answer, you will get one, but don’t expect it to have frills around it and stand clear if she has a High-Pressure Gun in her hand.

Sara Pickering

The newest member of the Minchin and Sims team, Sara comes with a broad range of experience across the Government and not-for profit sectors as well as running her own business.

Sara is known for her ability to develop networks across industries which assists her to find solutions to everyday challenges. With a high level of developing policies, planning and research Sara is an advocate for always learning and broadening your life experiences.

Sara combines her work at Minchin and Sims with personal training clients out of her garage to continue her passion for health and fitness.
